Fatima Juned is a visual artist and interdisciplinary practitioner, with her work rooted along the themes of gender, labour, memory, violence, identity, and resistance. Her practice is shaped through collaborations with communities, grassroots organisations, and women whose resistance is quiet but unyielding. Behind the lens or on the page, she traces the fragile contours of survival in a changing world by designing spaces for conversations, learning and questioning for communities on different thematics.

Parallel to her visual work, she mixes her work with embroidery and textiles that are often rooted in linguistic traditions of protest and resistance. She is based between Lucknow and New Delhi, she moves at the cusp of culture, tracing the overlooked and the urgent, and continues to work across disciplines, spaces, and solidarities.

Fatima is curating an exhibition for our 2025 grantee partners and the Khwab-e-Rafu project.
